2010 olympics schedule of events

Coverage for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia begins at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT tonight, February 12th, on NBC.? The NBC network has nabbed the Olympics and is going to bring you 24/7 coverage of the winter games (check out their amazing Olympics website).? You can even type in you zip code and it gives you the TV listings of what channel the Olympics will be shown in your town.? Believe me you do not want to miss the Opening Ceremony tonight–starting around 10ish.? Here is a schedule of the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Ralph Lauren designed the Opening Ceremony outfits the U.S. athletes will don on the first night.? I am so jealous and would consider being an Olympian for these outfits–just kidding, but they are really gorgeous.? However, I wont take away Canada’s moment while they host the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Canada is ready to host the Olympics and is pulling out all of the stops.? While the backdrop for the Opening Ceremony and Winter Olympic Games could not be more ideal–blue sky, surrounded by the beautiful sea, fresh white powder, the smell of bonfires–the Canadian’s have asserted, aggressively I might add, that they plan to win more Olympic metals at the 2010 Games than any other country (which would be an Olympic first).? “The last gold rush around here took place in 1858, I believe,” Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson said as part of an address here Tuesday night to the International Olympic Committee. “I predict the next gold rush will begin within one week.”

And as for the Olympic Cauldron and who will light it…that is still a mystery.? I have some speculations, probably the same as everyone else… Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, in a nation that is mad for hockey I will be shocked if a non-hockey player lights it, but who knows Canada may be full of surprises!

Here is Bob Costas’s predictions on tonight’s Olympic Opening Ceremony…
